physical anxiety side effects from Lexapro + Wellbutrin

Hello all,

I am on 20mg of Lexapro for MDD and GAD. The Lexapro works great for me and I basically had no side effects except for being very lethargic and lacking motivation. For this reason I went on Wellbutrin 150mg 3 weeks ago.

The first few days I felt absolutely terrible with weird brain fog, derealization, muscle aches, and an extremely dry throat/sinuses. A couple of days in I started to notice the motivation benefits, it became easier to do chores around the house, and start tedious tasks at work. I also felt really chatty and was generally in a good mood. I'm nicer and more polite to those around me.

This only lasted a couple of days before the anxiety started. I still have the motivation benefits (less than before though) but I also have this very distracting physical anxiety sensation that's hard to ignore. I have this almost constant tugging feeling behind my heart. Like I'm super nervous. I cant seem to make this feeling go away unless I am really busy or focused on a task. Even then, I can still feel it if I think about it.

I am beginning to reconsider this medication because the Lexapro alone basically erased my anxiety completely. I think it might be worth losing the motivation and other Wellbutrin benefits by going back to Lex alone if it means I wont have this anxiety any longer.

I have a follow up appointment with my doc in a week and a half. Will of course discuss these concerns with them, but I also wanted to see if there were others out there who experienced the same as me.

Will this feeling fade over time? will changing the dose help?
