hello everyone

first time doing maintenance to my MTB shocks, after several years of use.

the seals started to leak so it was time to replace them and complete some maintenance.

quick question is this normal to you?

I took out all the air and the rod collapsed completely. if I add air it will go up, but I was wondering if that is a normal behavior? I read somewhere about negative pressure so I'm not sure

any help would be highly appreciated
