On my agito watch (20 episodes in) - really struggling and has criticisms.

I will give agito this- its inoue most intricately plotted show, but that is also a downside- due it being so plot driven, that i feel it both drags the pacing, and undercuts inoue natural strength of character dynamics/& the story being driven by those character interactions

it feels like 3 kamen rider shows squeezed into one- and that's both a impressive ambitious feat and a big structural flaw- cuz the show is juggling with alot,

-Shouchi's amnesia and search to regain his memories

-Mana's psychic powers

-All of the police investigation/g3 unit stuff with hikawa, ozawa, and hojo

- Ryo's body horror struggles with his Gils form

- the mystery behind the Unknowns, the Overlord of Darkness and the Akatsuki Incident

= that is alot for 50 episode weekly toku. and it can't give same amount of attention and emotional investment to each because i had to juggle so much

Sure kuuga was slow paced too, but it was balanced by Godai being such a strong emotional center. But here, so far, i find most of the characters to be uninteresting and bland.

Shouchi's amnesia and search to regain to his memories is dragging. and while his interactions with hikawa and mana/the misugi household is funny, he himself as a character is kinda of a blank slate to the amnesia plotline

the police investigation/g3 unit is the most plotline i have most invested cuz it is the one most tied to the overarching plot of the season, hikawa himself to me is kinda meh character

-ryo on paper, should have conceptionally the most interesting arc due to all of the body horror stuff with gils, but his plotline is so underbaked compared to shouchi and hikawa

its ironic agito is less divisive than Faiz. cuz for all faiz's criticisms, the overabundance of miscommunication, Kusaka dividing the fandom due to being a loathsome awlful creep, and the things become really messy in the last 10 eps- it has a strong emotional center with takumi and the orphnoch trio of kiba, osada and kaido

Thoughts so far? without spoiling anything, does agito get better in the second half.

On Jetman discussion, - its odd its get the rep as the DARK DRAMATIC J DRAMA season of sentai, cuz its alot wackier and goofier than its rep. considering my experience with inoue up until this point has been KR 555 & KR Agito, i was expecting Jetman to be akin to those shows tonally. but not really

on my jetman watch so far

I wonder if there is a big difference between the Sentai Inoue and Rider Inoue. Cuz going from Faiz and Agito to Jetman feels like a whiplash. half of the time jetman feels like a sitcom, atop of the J Drama elements. sure faiz and agito had their moments of levity but those moments feel subdued to the humor or Jetman

Thoughts? is it just me? Am i Only who feel this way?

from what ive been web browsing in the net, Zoe is a kinda of a divisive character. i mean, people dunk on Bruno(mainly for the will they won't they dynamic with Kamala) but people know where they stand on Bruno and Nakia is generally well liked overall.

cuz some people critique how her redemption arc in GWW run was handled, some say it does come across as a "white girl apologizing for her racism", - is this fair criticism or not? also doesn't help Saladin sort of ruins this development with that traitor arc at his run during outlawed. for me, I just feel its inherently OOC cuz why would she betray the person who once saved her life, to the point zoe even dressed up as Ms. Marvel during that teenage wasteland arc in gww run. also, why would someone who got forcibly outed as gay in front of the entire school would essentially try to out someone's secret idenity to CRADLE?

sure, you can say it was all due to "trauma" but saladin doesn't explore well enough, doesn't give it enough interiority

so, is zoe a bad character? a good character? somewhere in between? Average?

Thoughts-
