This is my actual first time taking care of a Shih-Tzu, please tell me how can I give her the best life?

I'm only 16, but I want to make her life the bestest with what I have, even if I struggle already with myself. I know and am confident that I can change both of that, that I can take care of her and myself.

I also had a Shih-Tzu before, but it died from neglect due to me being a kid that time. I feel guilty, and I want that to change. I appreciate anyone here that took their time to read this. I heard this subreddit is very nice. :))

Right now here are already what I've done:

  1. FOOD: Planning to switch her slowly to less salty dog-food as she grows, I've heard they have sensitive stomach, but I don't like Pedigree much. Read they are notorious for kidney problems, so maybe more on D.I.Y meals and a little bit of kibble when not much is available.

The previous owner is very kind and has given me useful info and reminders. Three times a day, she will eat. 7 AM, 12 PM and then 6 PM. Watee changes everytime.

  1. ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH: She is healthy from the looks of it, she has ongoing vaccine schedules that I will bring her to, I currently stopped school so I have a lot of time. Her environment is my room that I cleaned, there isn't much stuff inside it because it once used to be a depression room, and I dumped my stuff away, so I decided she will stay here.

There are no rats, no cockroaches, a little dusty, but it has AC which is definitely a need because I'm in a tropical country.

  1. OTHER INFO:

Age - 2 Months, Feb-07-26.

Quirks - Loves to play around in water, playful, does not bark often or at all.

Smell - It surprised me as I only have aspins, they sure smell strong.

Poop smell - Very smelly...

Urine smell - Not much smell...
