I just had my endoscopy this morning. I was so nervous for what felt like no reason. It was over before I knew it.

In what seems like a fog, I woke up and the doctor was waiting and I believe he might have said something about seeing gastritis or me having gastritis. He left in what felt like a second and I couldn’t really remember too much, so I asked the nurse what he said and I also believe she said the same thing, that there was gastritis and that the doctor took biopsy or biopsies. From what I’ve read, that’s typically normal if there is gastritis. I didn’t get any paper that shows any pictures from the procedure or any pre-lim findings. So naturally, I’m freaking out thinking I didn’t hear the doctor or nurse right and wanted to triple check what is on paper. Should I have gotten a pre-lim doc from the surgical center/my doctor? I called the surgical center and they said every doctor is different and that I should just wait the two weeks for my follow up. Not sure if I should just ride it out until my follow up appointment or if should call the doctors office at the end of the week to see if there are pre-lim results. I’m hoping I didn’t mishear incorrectly or if I might be missing something that was said. Is it rare for gastritis to be cancer? That’s what I am terrified of. Thanks in advanced.

This whole post is TMI so I’m sorry in advanced.
I think I deal with constipation, as my stools are typically Type 1-3 on the Bristol Stool Chart. I noticed recently that I have a red/purple lump/bump near the opening of my butt. It’s not super noticeable unless I really open my cheeks but it sticks out and to me, it looks pretty big. I don’t have any pain, no blood in my stools or in toilet. Not sure if this is a hemorrhoid? The color of it is freaking me out and I’ve been using Hemorrhoid cream for the past two days. It’s just weird it looks “bad” but doesn’t really bother me. I am scared it is something worse or if it will ever go away. Going to see gastro tomorrow for endoscopy, going to mention it when I see him or next time I am in his office. Kind of embarrassed about it too.

I’ve struggled with health anxiety for as long as I could remember. Tomorrow I am scheduled for an endoscopy early in the morning and was told by my doctor it’s only a 5 minute procedure. I’ve had anesthesia/sedation before but not when my anxiety was this bad. I believe my anxiety causes high blood pressure, so I’m nervous the procedure will be canceled if I am too nervous and my BP skyrockets. What makes me nervous the most is not so much the procedure itself but the unknown of what could be found. Am I over thinking this? Anyone have any similar experiences with endoscopy?
