My wife and I are seriously considering the move toothed point we are doing research and consider going back next year to talk to an immigration lawyer and look at areas. We think we can do the NLV( im thinking we would be between $500-$600k cash after all sales and savings. I would absolutely want to buy a home cash as I own my home here cash. We have a 20 yr old daughter and 9 year old son so schooling is important and one of the bigger factor in the move and 2 small dogs.Could that budget realistically get me thru till we are able to legally work there in a yr or 2 or however long it would take to actually get a visa that allows us to work. We understand the low pay and how hard it is to get work, but we are versatile and would be working to pay a few bills and without rent and mortgage possibly explore a lil.

Any info I get i will appreciated. Also I came along something that idk if there is validity to it sounds like an option, but I don't know how the family plays into it. We are Puerto Rican. My wife was born in PR. My kids and myself where not. I heard she has an easier road being born there and possibly even myself as my parents where born there. If that gets us residency would that be a better option than going NLV. That way we could use some of the money we would have to show in saving to invest and possibly allow my wife a hiatus still from work(hospital high stress and another part of the better quality of life move).

We both know spanish and my daughter needs more practice. My son absolutely would need to learn. Buying a home is important, because of the dogs and debt freedom I'm accustomed to already. This is more for my mental stress as I handle the financial part of our relationship. Again any help in our research will be helpful and maybe help us better prepare when we go next year if this move is truelly feasible.
