Wait… Japanese People Bathe Naked Together??
Did you know that in Japan, people traditionally bathed together… completely naked?
Men and women. No swimsuits.
And apparently, this used to be way more normal in Japan than most foreigners would expect. Perhaps that is why Japan’s hot spring culture feels so strangely relaxing.
I went down a rabbit hole learning about Japanese traditions and customs, and this was honestly one of the most surprising things I found.
