I’ll start by saying hi potential future fellow Jeep 4xe owners!!

I’ve been doing some research and some digging on this subreddit, but I wanted to ask for your guys’ personal opinions with your 4xe’s and honest thoughts on my situation with deciding to buy a 4xe or not. I’m pretty new to car buying as well and not super car savvy yet.

The dealership offered me $29,000 out the door for a used 9,700 mile 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4xe Willys. (That’s with my non-Jeep trade in, which I honestly think their trade-in offer is good.) This has a couple additions to it, like the larger rugged off-road tires, debris guard below the doors, and an inch lift. It is a former fleet vehicle, but with it only being a year old and with that mileage, I don’t imagine that would be too problematic.

I’ve been deciding between a used 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4xe Willys and a new 2026 RAV4 XLE Premium. The price would be almost the same out the door for me to disregard the difference.

So, here are some main things I was hoping to ask for your guys’ thoughts on:

  1. 1

)

  1. What are your thoughts on the price? Is this fair - good for that model?
  1. What are your thoughts on the warranty offered? 100k mile Powertrain, 36k mile Comprehensive (If I recall correctly) (e.g electric). Are these the warranties that I’d want, and would they cover the common issues that pop up during that time? Would/could I negotiate for more, if so, what?

  1. How’s the hybrid been working for you? Is it revolutionizing the jeep and it’s poor mpg otherwise?
  1. I’d plan to drive it 7-10 years, or to drive it into the ground. How do you foresee the depreciation at that point, and how many miles would you expect this thing to last?

  2. Would I regret going with this over the reliability of the RAV4, if the issues are that persistent and severe?

  3. With the out the door for both cars being about the same, and with the warranty that is offered to offset maintenance, and with it being hybrid if I take advantage of charging daily, do you believe that more or less would balance out the cost of the car compared to owning the RAV4? (Of course, there are some inherent things that I would have to foot out of pocket and accept, such as more expensive tires. Yes, I know you drive Jeeps because you want to, and not to save on gas or reliability. But am I missing anything else key here?)

These are some of the main things I was wondering, and would really really appreciate your guys’ input! Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Cheers!
