did anyone have facial spasms after injury?
my daughter is 3 months post injury. She is mostly recovered besides this eye spasm throughout the day. I'm thinking it's either fatigue related or pinched/irritated nerve in the cervical spine or both. It's like a hard wink on the right eye, the side of the injury. We do have a neuro-optometrist appointment in 3 weeks. I hope this spasm is not permanent. Who should we see and what type of treatment? We did an flexion/extension x ray and the neurosurgeon said it looked fine except the bones are more straight. I'm thinking because she fell backwards it could have affected the curvature of her neck which in turn is possibly irritating the nerves.
We have a new appointment with a vestibular/concussion PT today but I'm wonder if we should hold off on that and work on the neck issue through manual therapist like CST or osteopath or home exercises? This new vestibular PT is not cheap so I'm having second thoughts. Don't want to waste money if it's not gonna be effective with her current neck issue. Has anyone had similar facial/eye spasm issues that eventually went away? fingers crossed.
