A bit confused

Hey everybody, so I recently acquired a new to me set, guessing it's 70's'ish from the case. I have never played the physical game before, only that which shall not be mentioned. If you all would be so kind as to educate me on a few things. I have tried and failed in my own research.

  1. I have 8 blank tiles and I appear to not have either the seasons or the plants. I have not seen any sets like this.

  2. What are the "sticks" for? And so I have the right amount?

  1. Any other information you have would be greatly appreciated. Happy to add any other pictures or measurements or whatever. There are NO markings that I have seen anywhere. Not in the case, trays or tiles and no paperwork.
