It's driving my mom crazy trying to figure it what this is.

Folding laundry and lost The Boy again.

Previous owner planted tulip tree. Is it too late to start pruning and training it into an actual tree instead of letting it bush out? I know right now is not the right time of year to prune, but is it still possible in the future/won't kill it?
