Subscription Box Services

Alright so whats the current thoughts on subscription boxes... Let me describe me and see if it helps. I currently subscribe to stitchfix every other month. I find that 2 out of 3 boxes I love and every once in awhile I get one (from the same stylist) and I say what happened here? Hint hint that just happened. I also find the quality a bit subpar with every now and than a home run on the quality front, but normally a bit of a stepdown.

I am a business owner with an office environment that is business casual so I like to be dressed appropriate and professional but like I said business casual. Jeans is fine, polo tucked in, etc. never wear a jacket in the office unless going to a client event later.

I generally dont need super casual weekend clothes (sweats, hoodies, etc) part of a subscription as I can easily get those on my end. But stuff for a Saturday night out sure.

I HATE shopping, I have the time investment in it and I just buy the same stuff. So I really love the idea of a box just showing up.

What have you found to work?

Excessive cash due to buckets

I know the answer is leave it. But as a healthy income earner with lots of categories well funded boy I sit with a lot of cash in a hysa. Cant help but think man i should put in market but obviously a downturn seriously erodes the balances. Anyone ever run into this? I assume the right answer is categories are relatively short term so keep cash in hysa and invest surplus

Organizing your notetaking, digital or paper like notebook

Hi all,

This may sound trivial to a lot but its a big deal. As I am sure you all do I have a lot of very different meetings throughout my day. I used to always capture my notes in Apple Notes for a lot of reasons.

However, I tried a Remarkable and love the lightweight nature, and hand writing makes me feel more engaged in my meetings. And distraction free. Plus writing experience is SO much better than anything else I have used.

But I am in meetings where we might need a picture of a whiteboard, PDF of supporting documents embedded in notes. And this is where the Remarkable falls short.

Anyone find a good between or good workflow for this?

Was thinking about this and curious to get everyone’s take. I am a Bogle style investor… Vti, vxus, bnd, and bndx.

But do etfs artificially drive up prices and prevent companies from establish proper value? In a etf like vti everyone if my “buys” disproportionately puts money into top companies increasing demand and therefore price. Regardless of how a company is performing my investment will match market cap and drive it higher.

A big company can underperform but an ETF won’t have me adjust for that.

Doesn’t this create artificial pricing not aligned with true performance?

I came from keeping all of my notes on my iPad in Apple Notes. For text notes and search it is FANTASTIC in Apple Notes. My experience of hand writing on the iPad is it is pretty terrible.

I had been holding off on Remarkable due to cost for a long time but finally bought one and love the notes from a hand writing experience. Its light and great to carry around etc.

But sometimes I need to mix notes and a PDF, or take a picture on a whiteboard....

I get it, Remarkable doesnt do that. But now where do I put those things? How do I keep them connected? This is a friction point I am struggling with so curious what everyone does?

I will give you a for instance.... I met with a team internally about a project we are working on requiring some development in our ERP system. During the brainstorming we mapped out a flow on the whiteboard, wanted to capture that. Had to redraw it. Not ideal but okay.

Put all the data into Claude and used that to help engineer the system modifications needed. It generated a PDF of next steps etc.

Now where do I put that?

Have another meeting in a week for review with the same team and notes back in remarkable but I am struggling with the multi info in multi places
