Where to start?
I bought this tapestry? a couple years ago and took it to a frame shop who said they could remove the backing and remount it on acid free backing and re frame it with museum glass for around $1000 bucks. I didn't pay a lot for this but I also don't want to mess it up. I'm a pretty competent carpenter but kind of want to know if this is worth doing myself to learn a new skill or if that price was really good. Original mat was removed due to having some water damage/mold.
