Can I move my peonies this spring?

I planted the bulbs fall last year so they are not established... but I made the mistake of planting them WAY too close together and so I need to prepare my other flower garden so that they can be properly spaced. My google search hasn't really given me any solid answers if I should wait until fall to move these guys... it's not like they're going to bloom this summer anyways, is there any reason I shouldn't move them as soon as I can..? 😥
