first time trying the milk jug method this year and pretty pleased with the results! sporobolus, silphium, liatris, milkweed, and a couple others i cant remember. mostly harvested the seed myself but bought some grasses at prairie moon. any advice on next steps would be appreciated!!
Took the Metra to West Chicago station this morning. It is one of the Big Boy stops - June 3rd. The UP MOW crew was there getting ready and I talked to them. They are replacing ties and putting down new ballast on the spur where 4014 will be stationed for display. They also had to do some additional vegetation trimming (its a big boy after all). And of course, they put up screening on the fence 😞 Anyway i was super excited so I hope ya'll find this interesting!
pretty much what the title says, i live on a main line in the chicago area and have always wanted to start learning about trains and this weekend i did! i watched a bunch of videos and took a bunch of photos and looked up a bunch of trains. its still really hard to tell the locos apart but im way better than i was on friday! would love to have any advice from you all for someone starting out, please be nice
