Hey everyone,

I'm 40 years old and when I was young, like 16-20 I did my fair share of drugs. Although it's been about 20 years since I took any I know for a fact that stimulants work on me. Well, last year I finally started seeing a proper psychiatrist and got diagnosed with multi type ADHD and NT2 narcolepsy. Since then I have run the gamit of simulants and not one of them has had a positive effect for me. I have now been on modafinil, armodafinil, Ritalin, Focalin, Vyvanse, Adderall, and dexidrene. I have tried both the extend release and instant release versions where applicable. I have been on the max dose for narcolepsy or ADHD, whichever one is higher, for all the above. Not one of them have given me a stimulating effect of any kind. I thought there was something wrong with me, like my brain is broken or something. My doctor doesn't know what to do. I just discovered this group and I feel so much better about myself now. I'm going to tell my doctor about all this and see if she will start writing me for brand name only and see if something works. I knew there had to be a reasonable explanation.

Hey everyone, This might be a long one but worth the read, I hope lol. I'm 40 and from ages 16-25 I was a very heavy drug user. If it would fuck me up I would take it. Needless to say I did my fair share of amphetamines and other stimulants. I used meth, Adderall, Ritalin, desoxyn, dexidrene, coke, crack, crank, and more, even tried bath salts once. I never had a very high tolerance, they all worked for me at fairly low doses, and got me feeling like speedy Gonzalez. Now FF fifteen years of sobriety later and I start having really low energy and randomly dosing off one day so after a few weeks of this I started seeing a new general practitioner and then psychiatrist. She diagnoses me with ADHD and type 2 narcolepsy. Huh, who knew lol. She started me on the light end with modafinil 100mg and 40mg straterra. Absolutely nothing. No effect. Ok, no problem,.... Right? Is a very low dose of modafinil and I'm an old school baller. Went all the way up to 400mg and still nothing. Switched to armodifinil and same thing. So we switched to Ritalin. Maxed out the dose. Nada, zip, zilch. Zero effect. Now I'm getting nervous, like WTF. So she switches me to Vyvanse 40mg and then 70mg. Nope. Big bag of nothing. Actually made me more tired. Now I am extremely confused. So the doc is getting irritated at this point as well and goes nuclear. 30mg instant release Adderall 4 times a day for a total of 120mg with 250mg armorafinil 4 times a day for total 1,000mg at the same time. Guess what? I took that shit, 30mg Adderall with 250mg armodafinil, and went to sleep two hours later. Woke up and I said fuck it, I was pissed now. I crushed out 120mg Adderall into 4 big ass lines and snorted all that shit. I felt like I had drank a good cup of coffee and that was it. I was tired as hell again like 2 hours later.🤦 Told the doc what I did, she's cool like that, and she gave me the only option left, the hydrogen bomb, mother fucking meth(desoxyn). It only comes in 5mg tabs for some reason but she prescribed me 4 tabs three times a day or 60mg a day. She had to get approval from the fucking DEA, a state board, my insurance, and my pharmacy to prescribe that much to me.
