Flavor Foley Might be the Reason I Learn Chinese

This my first long text post so bear with me here.

I found Flavor Foley through like a year ago playing Project Sekai, specifically Electric Weekend Zone, and immediately dove into their music.

I wasn't fully deep, just knew a few of the most popular ones, Spoken For, STATIC, Butcher's Vanity.

Fast forward until about early September, where an online friend told me about their concert in Chicago (near me so not too out of the way), just before the Expo. Needless to say, I was immediately interested, as a few other artists who I was (vaguely) familiar with were also there. Up until the concert I listened to the same 4ish songs from them + Water the Roses and Weathergirl, up until the concert itself.

Now mind you, my only experiences of concerts up until this point were the mediocre high school DJ's that get hired for school dances and the Ado concert I went to.

In high school. I took Japanese, and have been interested in learning other languages, notably Chinese. Decided to take up Chinese on Duolingo (it sucked), but I got the basic idea of pronunciation and phrases.

^(also got a little bit of practice when Xiaohongshu was taking over tiktok and my fyp was force-feeding me chinese but thats a different story)

Fast forward to now, still absolutely hooked on them, but the Chinese bits of Butcher's Vanity got me hooked on trying to actually learn them and not just pronounce them fluently in the song; but actually, learn the phrases, the characters.
