Benzodiazepine dependence: PRN use, alprazolam half-life

I’m prescribed Xanax 2mg PRN for anxiety, panic, and insomnia.

I’m well aware of the risks associated with BZDs and I respect the danger associated with their use.

My doctor instructed that it was safe to use the medication twice a week without a need to worry about dependence.

I understand the half life of alprazolam is roughly 11 hours. So theoretically within 3 days the amount left over would be clinically insignificant.

Is it correct in use twice per week is 100% safe to avoid dependence? I’m trying to understand this confidently so the med can get used as safe and responsibly as possible.

Honyaki blemishes

I clean the patina off my Togashi Honyaki with flitz every so often but notice every time I do it a silhouette gets left behind.

At this point it’s lost a lot of its original beauty and sheen. How could I go about refreshing the polish without damaging the finish in any way? Or would this be better suited for a professional to repolish? It doesn’t even pick up a good patina anymore due to how “dirty” it is

Before I got into Japanese knifes, I’ve always been into cooking. A few years ago I decided to buy a large teakhaus end grain board because the research that I had done showed it to be an affordable and high quality cutting board. That was back when I was still using a Dalstrong knife lmao…

Well fast forward a few years and a lot of knowledge gained and a lot of expensive/high end blades purchased I’ve learned that it’s not so good of a board. Mainly due to its silica content and its ability to blunt knives.

I’d like to know this community’s opinion on these cutting boards, specifically the end grain.

I’m also curious if it could be a sharpening error on my end as to why my edges aren’t lasting very long. I understand different steels and all that, but for example I can get my Kono BY W1 to paper towel slicing sharp but barely a week or two later it’s already began to dull at the tip where I use it most. Not even from daily use either. So I imagine even for W1 that’s way too short of a time frame between sharpenings? Is it a technical problem on my end, or is it the board? I really don’t treat the knife harshly against the board either. Quite gently..

Or is there a reason not to? It mainly sits on my desk like this unless of course I’m doing a shoot where I will break it down for transport.
