Overconsumption of Cosmetics - Rhode Skincare

I’ve noticed a huge consumer culture forming around Rhode, a skincare/makeup brand by Hailey Bieber, especially on social media. People post massive hauls with 10+ lip products, multiple blushes in nearly identical shades, backups of unopened items, etc.

With every new launch, there seems to be pressure to collect entire sets just because the packaging is trendy or aesthetically pleasing. At a certain point, I genuinely don’t understand how someone could use all of these products before they expire without creating a ton of waste from the products themselves.

What’s interesting to me is that it feels less like skincare or makeup enthusiasm and more like fandom-driven collecting. The products become merchandise tied to an aesthetic or online identity rather than things meant to be practically used. Of course, there are people who genuinely use their products normally, but collecting tons of the same item feels a bit over the top.

This also expands to how people overbuy makeup in general, and most of it just sits there unused. What are your thoughts about cosmetics consumption?

Be Aware of this at Revolving Sushi on Town Center Dr

Hey everyone, I recently had a pretty weird experience with a staff member at this place, and I wanted to share it so people know to keep their personal information safe (especially because of how popular this place is). To summarize: I ordered takeout from here (I usually dine in) and realized an item was missing. I went back in, showed them it wasn’t included, and was told they didn’t have the item and that I wasn’t charged for it.

When I got back to my car, I recalculated the total and realized I actually was charged. So I went back in a third time, and the girl at the front with glasses looked visibly annoyed to see me again. For some reason, my receipt wasn’t enough proof for her, and she asked to see my BANK statement.

At the time, I was in a rush and just wanted to get it over with, so I showed her — but afterward I realized that was pretty strange. A receipt and email confirmation should absolutely be enough from the customer. Please do NOT feel pressured to show employees your bank statements or personal financial information. Even if it is not illegal, it is still very inappropriate and gives off the idea that they assume you're trying to con them in some way🫠.

I informed the manager afterward via a call, and they didn’t seem to care that their staff member did this. Either way, the whole situation felt very out of the ordinary, and I should have firmly said no. Be careful with your info!
