Was this racism at AUH

Today I had a flight back home from Abu Dhabi Airport with my wife. Had an odd encounter there not sure how to feel about it, After clearing security while I was putting my laptop back in my bag, the attendent in cream suit near the body called me to come to him.

I thought he is security and wanted to ask some questions, He said why don't you use this and showed me a Yardley Perfume and said why don't you use this a couple of times in variation "like you don't use this, it's big problem".

Then I second guessed and thought he must be a salesman but he was nowhere near any shop, I said no I use Axe Body spray(had used it an hour ago). He again said no, it's problem, then I thought it's getting weird and I said sure and turned around.

I saw a couple of other travellers watching the encounter and their faces were also confused. There was another lady there, (his colleague judging by their similar uniform) smiling. Then I realised the guy was probably trying to be joke and impress the girl.

Just adding that I reached directly to airport via taxi and wasn't sweating at all, had left the hotel fresh after shower.

Still not sure if this was a cultural joke or was he being just a dick.
