I got a call at 9pm from someone who spoke very professionally, knew my full name, and said they were from Scotiabank. Went through a minute long spiel about offering “free” accident and disability insurance and then asking if they could transfer me to someone else to start the process.

Caller ID said Scotiabank but I know that can be easily spoofed. Is this an actual Scotiabank promotion? I’m almost worried that it IS because I’ve seen posts from people saying they got banking telemarketing calls for different services but the rep had done a hard credit check to “qualify” them for the promo.
