youtube.comThe first ever interactions between Raven and Trigon (NTT vol. 1 #2-3)
The writing in these pages is really interesting to analyze after the fact because it seems pretty clear that they hadn't decided exactly what they were going to do with Trigon and Raven yet. Especially in the first page - Raven begging Trigon for forgiveness really doesn't make any sense. My guess is they wrote very vague dialog on purpose with the thought that they'll figure out what it means later.
I also think Raven referring to herself as human is very interesting. It makes me wonder if they hadn't committed yet to Trigon being her father, or maybe they hadn't committed yet to Trigon being non-human.
Raven repeatedly calling Trigon "Trigon" on the second page is a little funny to me. Since Trigon being her father was a twist they were building up to they couldn't reveal it yet. As soon as the twist is revealed, though, she starts to call him "Father". The same thing happens with Arella too in #4. Given how weird Raven's childhood and her relationship with each of her parents is it does make sense that she'd sometimes call them by their first names, but at the same time, it was clearly written that way to build suspense and not immediately reveal that they're her parents.
