i know this is a melanje snark subreddit but i dont have anywhere else to post this, mods are ofc free to remove lol. i wanted to see if anyone is going through something similar or used to be a big fan of melanie like i was for marina, marina was a big part of my life for years ive saw her live and bought like hundreds in merch. although i thought her last album sucked and i was kinda done with her for a while because of melanie it just feels real now and lowkey like a part of me died, i dont want this to sound parasocial as ive never felt like i had a personal bond with marina herself but her music 100% rewired my brain in a way i cant describe. she was my second love in music and i got into her around the time i watched my favourite movie for the first time and im sort of reminded of her when i watch it, as some of her songs like evol reminded me of the movie so i kind of associate them together in a way 🥲 again i dont want this to sound weird but does anyone have any tips on how to stop this? i never really went through this with melanie as i got into queen around the same time so they kinda overshadowed her and she never grew into the phase that marina did. i still listen to her older music sometimes and i just get that sad feeling about who shes turned into, i know some of us here were also marina fans so again any help is appreciated 😭

im going to a concert in may and i want to get some confetti from the show but im seated, im not sure if the confetti will reach me so i was wondering if after the concert i can go down to the standing area to grab some? might be a dumb question but ive only been to hydro once in march but i was standing then.

kinda random post but for some reason her song copy cat came to my head, i couldnt remember the name of the song at first so i kept singing it into myself thinking it was from one of the my little pony movies for some reason. eventually it obviously clicked that it was melanie but it got me thinking how if u remove the adult themes her music could genuinely pass for being in a straight to dvd kids movie youd find heavily discounted in poundland back in the day 😭 i get that she was trying for the child like aesthetic but its weird how ive just realised how much it shines through, the mvs are bad enough but its crazy how even the music sounds genuinely childish and its not surprising now how parents could hear her music and not bat an eye about it unless they listened more closely.
