How do families actually plan for private school fees with multiple kids?

Me (35M) and my wife (34F - always right) have 3 young kids (5, 4, 2 yo), great jobs and above average incomes. I decided to try and figure out how much it'd cost to send our kids to a few good schools in town. I found an online tool (screenshot from the report attached) that does all sorts of projections and honestly it was a lot more than I expected. Looking at one year of fees is one thing but when you look at the whole pathway across 3 kids it's a bit insane.

Not trying to start a public vs private school debate. More just wondering how families actually make the numbers work.

Did you plan years ahead or just deal with the bills as they came in? If you’ve already gone through it what would you do differently?

EDIT: I’ve had a few DMs re the online service it’s called schoolcost
