Adding garlic scapes to my Oiji

It's been a week ever since I made Oiji. The cucumbers all wrinkled up and there were too much of salt water left. I didn't want to throw away the delicious water with all the cucumber and chili sauce so I decided to reuse it!

I made sure to boil the water before I used it because I wanted to sterilize it and added soju to be extra safe. (Better safe than sorry)

I ran out of salt water in the end and should have added more soju but I was to lazy to go to the convenience store. Well, this is the final result!

Making Oiji Day 1

Making Oiji or traditional Korean pickled cucumber in my small goshiwon room. Once the oijis are seasoned I can use them to make many different banchans! Of course I can eat them directly as well with a bit of seasoning with minced garlic and chili flakes.

I made a YouTube channel to keep record of my life in Seoul and this is my first video. I'll keep posting on this page as well. Wish you all the best! 🥰

Today's lunch from my company cafeteria. Chicken soup was lovely and other banchans also tasted good.

Last time I posted one of the bad meals, so now I'm posting some good one to do my cafeteria justice.
