Is it unreasonable to expect a Move driver to know how to use Google Maps?
I don't always know how to direct someone from where they are + as I only speak English, the language barrier also hinders my ability to explain verbally. However, I'm always going to/from somewhere on Google Maps. Getting a Move has become frustrating because either:
- I teach the Move driver how to use Google Maps along the ride (many are appreciative, some I'm sure feel condescended despite my intention)
- they get angry with me and say 'google maps doesn't work' so I take out my phone and direct them while I am on Google Maps
I get it's unreasonable to have any random person off the street know how to use apps. But surely, part of becoming a Move driver should include some basic training on maps/navigation. Bolt drivers in Tanzania & Uber drivers in Kenya get some basic training before they can be verified as users so Move has the precedent of regional competitors to compare to. Or maybe I'm missing something, I don't want to offend, I don't go around enough to warrant buying a car but I'm considering it just to get out of the tension with every Move.
