Float mounts not sticking in the corners
Hi there. We recently paid for 4 prints to be framed and on collection noticed they weren't stuck down flat at the corners. I could have got a finger in some of the gaps. We came back a week later and things were better, but gaps were still present and our concern was they would get worse over time. The prints were float mounted and we have been told the issue is due to them being rolled up for too long and that they might have some kind of coating that stops the glue doing its work. The suggested fix is to replace the glass with an acrylic and have the prints pressed up against it. This is apparently less prone to issues related to condensation and the image sticking (not sure what the exact terminology was).
My issues are we have paid quite a lot already (double our budget) to get this done properly, which currently is not the case. The acrylic glass will be a 3rd of the price again on top of that. I also want to be fair, but don't fully understand the intricacies of how this all works and why I'm posting this message for some more informed advice. The art goes to the edges of the print (we paid extra for them to be hand finished this way) and having a border over the top isn't an option unfortunately.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
