Hello all, I'm giving strong consideration to moving to Ecuador in early 2027. It's a massive decision for me & I've been taking in lots of reasearch between this forum & others. I could do with a hand crunching some numbers regarding living costs.

After UK expenses I can have a passive income of $2500 per month give or take in EC. According to the forums, chatgpt etc this is a comfortable amount to get by on in Quito, my intended destination. Alas, my EC expenditures based on my research are as follows:

$84 per month for decent medical insurance
$30 pm gym
$38 pm gas, water, electricity
$18 pm Internet
$20 pm mobile plan
$500 pm rent - there's loads of factors in this one so for the sake of a number, call it 500.
$250 pm food - again lots of factors here. Generally I cook my own food or eat out at local markets. Restaurants ain't really my scene.

So lets call it $1500 disposable per month after EC cost of living. Is there any other essential / mandatory costs, taxes etc I that I've overlooked thus far? Ideally I'll have enough left over to contribute to a pension fund and to visit my family in the Europe a couple of times a year. Any insight, corrections, thoughts on my numbers would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
