Thought this was a really deep purple, but when I hold it up to my bf’s flashlight it looks red??

Looking to make some sort of mosaic type artwork with this canvas and some sea glass (can’t decide if I want to use my fav pieces on this or save them for my display shelf?), looking for a bit of advice! 1). Should I paint the background canvas? Even just white to clean up any dirt spots? 2). How do people wash their sea glass? I’d like to wash it before glueing it on, and 3). What glue would be best for this type of project?

Found on the beach today near a port

All found on the beach on the east coast of Canada. I know the far left is a sacrificial anode. I know the top middle is maybe a splitting wedge? And I know the one to the immediate right is for holding open an old wooden window. The bottom middle (red/yellow in colour) I believe is something to rig rope on a boat? Most of this was figured out through Reddit and Google images 😅 anyone know what the rest are??? Thanks!
