3rd install, AC blowing hot

This is the 3rd house I’ve installed ecobee in, I’m just a homeowner. This is the first one with resistive heat instead of a heat pump so I figured it would be even easier. But no, install seemed to go just fine but it blows hot. The copper tube that would normally be cold coming from the outside compressor is hot. Blower runs, outside fan runs, but no compressor sounds and no cold air. I undid the wires and reinstalled them no change. Reinstalled the old thermostat and it worked fine. Any ideas? I’m at a loss. Gonna have my HVAC tech cousin come by next week but I’d love to get it fixed before then and not bother him. He hates ecobee’s, besides needing to reverse OB the first house I did it on, this is the first time I’ve had issues with them.
