My whippet throws up grass/bile 2-3 a week. Anyone else?

Hi all,

I’m looking for some insight or shared experiences with this because I’m trying to figure out if this is just “normal whippet things” or something I should dig deeper into.

I have a whippet who throws up about 2–3 times a week. It’s usually bile with sometimes grass. He’s definitely a grazer. It tends to happen pretty randomly, but I’ve noticed it often. After he throws up, like clockwork, comes after he gets excited and starts doing zoomies or playing hard. Perfectly happy right after for a few days until it happens again in the week.

A few details:

He eats only dry kibble (no table food at all)

No human food, no treats that would upset his stomach

Vet mentioned he has a “sensitive tummy”

They recommended Royal Canin GI food, but it’s just not affordable for me long term

I switched him to a more budget-friendly vet-recommended brand (Authority GI salmon formula) hoping it would be gentler on his stomach

I’m wondering:

Is this common in whippets or sighthounds in general?

Has anyone had success with a specific probiotic that actually helped reduce vomiting like this?

Any feeding routines or tricks that helped (smaller meals, timing around exercise, etc.)?

Should I be more concerned since it’s happening a few times a week, even though he otherwise seems totally normal, energetic, and healthy?

Any advice or experiences would really help. I just want to make sure I’m not overlooking something or missing an easier fix.

Got approved for PAYE but 10 days later, new letter says “IDR plan” did my repayment plan change or is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I was recently approved for the PAYE (Pay As You Earn) repayment plan for my federal student loans. I received an official letter confirming I was placed on PAYE and everything looked correct.

However, today I received another correspondence from my loan servicer. This new letter doesn’t mention PAYE specifically. Instead, it says I am on an “Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) plan.”

The confusing part is:

My monthly payment amount did NOT change

The account still reflects the same situation overall

But the wording now seems more generic as “IDR plan” instead of PAYE

From what I understand, PAYE is one of the IDR plans, so I’m not sure if this is just a reclassification in wording or if something actually changed behind the scenes.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Did your servicer switch terminology like this after approval, or should I be concerned that I was moved off PAYE into a different plan?

Any insight would really help
