I don’t know anything about hockey (or most sports), but would a fan like David really know that Ilya had a lot of female partners? And I’m wondering how a sports fan (who reads the New Yorker and doesn’t even know what YouTube is) learn about such a thing? Are sports broadcasters mentioning that so and so has a reputation for being a player or whatever? Genuinely curious if this is poetic license or if David having heard such stories is plausible. Thanks in advance for your input.

and told them he had a situationship with Ilya, do you think Yuna and David would have dissuaded Shane from continuing to see Ilya? I go back and forth on this. They are super supportive and want Shane to be happy, but they are protective too and I think would have wanted to see Shane with “a nice young man from Montreal”. Plus Yuna wouldn’t see Ilya in the best light because he played for Boston ;) I’d love to hear thoughts on this and if you think their opinion would have changed depending on when they found out.
