The more I wear this thing, the more I appreciate how well judged it is. It manages to feel refined without tipping into flashiness, sporty without feeling bulky. I originally worried the polished bezel and bracelet would be a bit much for my taste, but in practice it just reads as quietly refined. It manages to feel both sporty and elegant depending on the light. Has basically become my default office watch at this point.

The bracelet looks and feels great, but I’d like to try something different. Since the L2L is 19mm, I can’t use any of my current straps (all 20-21mm).

Been thinking of getting a black leather strap (maybe alligator finish) for more formal affairs, and a dark blue nato for more casual occasions. It’s too bad that the blue rubber strap made for the Conquest is (a) always out of stock and (b) ridiculously priced.

What do you all recommend?

I got my Conquest recently and absolutely love it. It’s a true GADA piece. However, the new HC looks fantastic (the design language, the build quality, that ceramic bezel, the colorways…), and since I don’t have a dive watch, it seems like a no brainer to get it. Can’t spend another $2K right now, though. Will have to wait it out, see if it holds up past the hype.
