First time at a camping festival AND RaR - seeking advice

This will be my first ever camping festival (I've done 1-day festivals before though) and first time at RaR. I'm traveling from UK and was hoping to see if there is some community already which helps to find other campers to team up with for having an easier time navigating a festival for the first time.

Since I'll be flying (and have a few other stops to make) I don't plan on bringing camping gear with me and will instead either buy/rent there. Is this a very stupid idea?

At this point the anxiety is high and I'm wishing I had taken Rock-im-Park tickets as a first timer instead.

Looking for others who are also travelling from South to North. My first time at Slamdunk and I have no idea how to manage the travel.

Hi, I'll be travelling to attend SDF on both venues. It's my first time at a festival although I have attended concerts before.

I will be staying in Hatfield for the day before and the day of the show. I'm wondering how to get from South to North at a reasonable time?

I was thinking to go back to London after Hatfield and then take a morning train to Leeds but since it's Sunday and the bank holiday week I can't see any trains early in the morning.

I did see the coach that SDF has partnered with but to catch it I'll need to miss the end of Hatfield show which I really can't bring myself to do.

What other options exist?

Would be happy to ride with some folks as well in exchange for good snacks from over the seas.
