Anyone know why he keeps doing this all of a sudden?

All of a sudden Misty has started twitching his wings every two seconds and he’s been doing it for 30 mins straight - he has his every 5 months general health checkup at the vet tomorrow but for now - any ideas?

Meet misty 🩷

Meet misty, crazy, curious, and super snuggly 5 month old cockatiel

I’ve had misty for about a month now and have spent hours and hours doing research on reddit ect ect - such an anxious perfectionist mother 😭 I love him too much and want him to be as healthy and happy as possible

I feel I’ve learnt quite a lot and did lots of research and learning before buying him- such as the Teflon, chemicals, sprays, perfumes, diet, toys, environment, personality, attention needed ect ect - which I’ve been super careful about his environment all candles, scents, deodorant sprays, perfume, cleaning sprays ect is GONE and never to be used

I brought misty from a handheld bird breeding company in my home town, $299. He is such a beautiful boy (although I’m not certain of sex but the shop said most likely male but I’m def getting a blood test to define this) can’t wait! Can you guys tell at all if misty looks more male / female?

Diet - seeds should be minimal as they’re super fatty- mostly pellets and veggies such as kale, broccoli, carrot, capsicum, ect ect and fruits as treats + the cheeky millet every now and again which he lovesssss

I brought an air purifier to help with the dust and she has plenty of foraging toys, multiple natural perches and I’ve heard a mirror is a no go! So we don’t have one of those :) misty also has some cuttlebone to snack on for the calcium ect which I’ve heard is good too

He gets fresh water every day and natural light during the day, he has a very consistent and stable routine and his cage gets covered at night and he gets around 12-13 hours of sleep each night (although he hatesss being put back in his cage cause he can’t get snuggles anymore - or bite my earring 😂) he’s only experienced one night fright but I’ve always had a night light for him on so his cage isn’t pitch black and there’s always a little corner open so he can see out and get airflow - when he had the night fright I woke up and sat near his cage and spoke gently to him - he calmed down quickly

I mist him every couple of days and this is definitely one of his favourite things and I’ve heard it helps with preening

It only took me about two weeks for misty to begin wanting to see me, steeping into my finger, loves the shoulder, and snuggling when he decides im a nice safe and warm place to take a nap. As soon as he gets put back in the cage for bed time he wants to come straight back out an hang out, so cutie - he also loves his out of cage perch I brought him which hes on in the first pic!! But he also LOVES the window and having a look so I added a sturdy stick for him to perch on and look outside

And lots - I mean lotssss of flock calling 😂 I’m losing my hearing at this point but I’m not complaining at all - he loves a good beak grind too

I’d really love to be the best owner I can be for this lovely young boy - please give me any additional advice you guys have. I love the reddit community

Thanks 🥰
