CISSP Demand In 2026
CISSP still seems to be in high demand. Seeing it in a lot of job listings lately.
Is it still worth it in 2026?

Is it still worth it in 2026?
I’ve been researching cybersecurity careers lately, and honestly… the demand in 2026 looks insane.
With everything going digital (AI, cloud, fintech, etc.), companies are struggling to keep up with security. That’s where cybersecurity professionals come in.
But here’s what I’m trying to figure out 👇
🔐 What roles are actually worth targeting?
From what I’ve found, these seem to be the most in-demand:
SOC Analyst (entry-level, good starting point)
Ethical Hacker / Penetration Tester
Cloud Security Engineer
Security Engineer
Incident Responder
GRC Analyst (for non-technical folks)
💡 Skills that keep popping up everywhere:
Networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)
Linux + Windows fundamentals
Security tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite)
SIEM tools & log analysis
Python / scripting
Cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP)
📚 Common advice I keep seeing:
Start with basics (don’t jump straight into hacking)
Build a home lab
Practice on platforms like TryHackMe / Hack The Box
Do certifications (Security+, CEH, etc.)
Create a portfolio (GitHub + writeups)
💰 Salary & Growth (India perspective)
From what I’ve seen:
Entry-level: ₹4–8 LPA
Mid-level: ₹10–20 LPA
Advanced roles: ₹25+ LPA
Seems pretty solid compared to many other tech roles.
