Hey basset lovers,

My family almost always had Basset hounds, and living in a ground floor home was never an issue. Also with climbing to the second floor or basement back and forth. But that was only one floor at the time.

Now I’m living for few years in a third floor building with no elevator. I really would love to have a basset hound of my own. But I’m not sure how climbing three floors 3 times a day would be.

I don’t mind using some form of harness, but would prefer to just keep my dog (healthy!) athletic.

Does anyone have experience living with a basset in higher floors and taking the stairs every day? Any recommendations or suggestions?
