Help with an etali and pantlaza deck for custom format in my locals
Hey everyone 👋
At my locals we’re testing two different formats, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to adapt my decks for each one. I’d really appreciate some feedback.
Formats:
- Bracket 3–ish
* Infinite combos allowed only after turn 6
* Max 3 game changers per deck
- Bracket 4/5
* No infinite combos at all
I usually play Pantlaza, Sun-Favored with a blink-focused build in both environments, and it’s been performing well. However, I’m considering also bringing Etali, Primal Conqueror and tuning both lists specifically for these formats.
What I’m looking for
* What modifications would you suggest for:
* Pantlaza blink in Format 1 vs Format 2
* Etali in Format 1 vs Format 2
* How would you:
* Adjust game changers (which 3 are worth it in the first format?)
* Balance speed vs resilience, especially with delayed infinites
* Replace infinite combo lines in the b4/5 format while keeping Etali threatening
* Any must-cut or must-include cards depending on the ruleset
My main concern is keeping Pantlaza strong without overshooting the power limits, and making Etali viable without relying on infinites in the higher bracket.
If you’ve played in similar “custom bracket” metas or have experience tuning these commanders across power levels, I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙏
Thanks in advance!
