Hey all,

I’m thinking about finally replacing my old Logitech X-230 speakers. They’ve been in use for around 20 years now, so it’s probably time for something a bit better.

This is mostly for a homeoffice/gaming use. Nothing super serious, but I’d like something that actually sounds good and is a noticeable upgrade. I’m not looking for anything crazy expensive or overly fancy, just solid value for the money. After work I´m just using the widescreen monitor. Height between monitor and desk plate are 15cm. It would be possible to add a Vesa mount to the desk, to get a few extra cm.

I’m open to pretty much anything at this point — active speakers, passive + amp, 2.0, 2.1, whatever makes the most sense. I do not have installed a dedicated soundcard in my PC.

Current setup is pretty packed, so something compact would be nice.

What would you guys go for in this situation?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to decide between these two soundbars for my 30 sqm living/dining room:

JBL Cinema SB580 — about €200, with wireless subwoofer

Sony HT-B600 / BRAVIA Theatre Bar 6 — about €310, also with wireless subwoofer

My TV is a 6-year-old Sony Bravia. I specifically want:

- wireless subwoofer

- HDMI eARC

-good sound for movies/TV, with decent bass

I listened to the JBL in a store and really liked the sound. I couldn’t test the Sony so far.

I also tried the Sonos Ray and Bose Smart Soundbar without subwoofer, but the Sonos felt too weak in bass for my room and only have optical input. The Bose sound also very decent.

For anyone who has used either of these:

- Which one would you pick?

- Is the Sony worth the extra €110?

- Any better alternatives in this price range up to 300€-325€?
