Title sums it up, I'm interested in urban car living, no experience. In a bad livng situation and I'd prefer to save money to buy a house vs blow it on rent. I live in a LCOL low crime area so just not too worried about dangers I might experience in a big city.

I'll only drive an American union built vehicle, I believe in it and it's a professional consideration as well.

Pretty sure I'd like a Chevy Equinox but am interested in what advice I might get here. Going slightly used around 15k is my max budget but a family member works in car business and is very likely to get me a great deal as he has in the past.
