Recommendations of tablet/e-reader for book & PDf markups, note taking, sketching, eyestrain
I'm going a little nuts trying to select a device primarily for reading and note taking, and could use some pointers. My criteria (I think):
Required:
Reading PDFs, TXT/DOC and kindle (presumably through Android app), possibly websites but I want to be able to focus, so full online capabilities may be a distraction
Marking up those readings
Note taking in lectures, etc.
Some sketching, with decent or better stylus
Probably around 10" screen (my kindle paperwhite would be too small, but something in between it and 11" might be good))
Reduced eyestrain (so probably e-ink, but the TCL Nxtpaper sounds interesting, too.)
Probably color screen
OS is probably Android (I'm not an Apple person. My laptop is Windows.)
Ideally:
(Well) under $500 US (I'm on the fence about the Boox Note Air 5C)
Micro SD card slot for file transfer unless the device has other easy methods to transfer between my laptop.
Detachable keyboard (but not necessary)
Contenders I've been considering so far:
Boox Note Air 5C (but would like to spend less)
Ranta Supernote Manta (not color, also fairly expensive, but I like the repairability)
TCL Nxtpaper 11 Plus (palm rejection problems?)
Less well-known brands are OK, too
I think a reMarkable device that does what i'm looking for is too expensive
Or ... ditch the bluelight issue and go for a Samsung or Lenovo, etc.
Thanks!!
