Is deadlock uniquely vitriolic or am I just not used to getting flamed in games?

The only multiplayer games I play are like, overwatch and fighting games. The former, I’d only ever play with my friends over discord and only casually. I am not good at shooters in general.

We’ve been playing deadlock lately, and I find the game super fun, however I’ve encountered WAY more people specifically single me out to insult, especially if I’m on support. I had one solo-queue guy recently vent to the other team that I’m uniquely bad and threw the lane to them, then continued to tell the rest of our team I’m worthless, trying to get them on board (I was in a 5 stack with my friends and fiancé).

Anyway. Hopped off a game just now where it happened again, but this time I’m muting people the moment they start saying shit.

Is there something about mobas that like, make people think it’s ok to relentlessly insult others? At their big age?
