How can I fix artifacting/noise from low light photos?

Hi!
I'm an extremely amateur photographer and I decided to take my camera out to a local show and take some pictures! My camera is a Canon EOS Rebel SL3 with the kit lens, ef-s 18-55mm f/4-5.6. I was using Tv mode with the shutter locked to 1/250 and the ISO at 6400. Sitting down and trying to edit (never done before), I can't seem to increase the brightness and contrast without introducing a lot of weird artifacting and can't get rid of the noise. I'm using darktable and these are the RAWs exported without any processing. Any advice on how I can clean these up? Camera settings tips would also be very appreciated
