i had a flight in the middle of my trip with a 10kg max for carry on. i first flew in at 9.5kg but having picked up various trinkets and toiletries along the way, i didn't know what i weighed at that point. using the scale, i was able to figure out the minimum amount of stuff to leave behind so i hit weight perfectly at the airport. ended up not even being weighed by the flight staff lol, but the peace of mind was worth much.
