Hi everyone,

I’m an international student from India waiting for an admission decision from TU Wien for Winter Semester 2026. I’m worried about delays related to the Austrian student residence permit (RP), and I wanted to hear from people who were in a similar situation.

For those who received their RP late and missed the semester start:

• Were you able to join late, or did you shift/defer to the next semester (Summer Semester)?
• Did you have to apply for the RP again, or could you continue/use the same RP with updated university documents?
• What happened to your accommodation contract? Did you keep paying rent, postpone move-in, or get any refund of advance/deposit?
• How long did your RP processing take after the appointment?

Any experiences, timelines, or advice would really help.
