So I’ve been leasing an apartment off someone for nearly 3 years. Rent came out on the 1st and after sending it my landlord messaged me saying the submitted an N9 and that I need to be out of my apartment within the next 2 months. Later that same day the building slipped something under my door while at work. I never agreed to leaving, my landlord refuses to try and negotiate or even just talk about what’s going on and is claiming I don’t need to be given anything besides a text saying I need to leave. They also said they still expect me to pay rent for June.
Im just looking for some advice as to what do to do. They haven’t lived in the apartment in over 3 years as they been renting it out for nearly 5 years to others. We don’t have a formal lease, just an agreement we made through texts.
