NHS treatment and family history
Hi all, I have a particularly gnarly trunk varicose vein on my leg which is often sore, itchy and uncomfortable. I’ve been to the doctor a few times over the last three years about it and they do nothing other than say wear compression socks which I do.
I haven’t discussed this in detail with the doctor yet, but I am nearing 30 which is the same age my mother was when her varicose veins caused DVT, and she later had to have multiple veins stripped from both legs. I have a consistent history of strokes and death by strokes in my maternal family also.
Does anyone know if the NHS will take this family history into consideration for potential removal? I’m deathly scared of this developing into something worse and so fed up of the pain.
