Monday Night Raw is in the CHI Center tonight.
During the entrance of a new female wrestler, they showed this:
Ok. I've been thinking about this for about a week or so.
Before I get into this, I should say LA and Vegas are all but official at this point.
So, three brand new teams. One expansion team that is essentially a relocation, but not officially. And one expansion team that is being spun as a returning franchise.
The final standings will be:
Champion
Runner Up
Highest semi-final loser
Lowest semi-final loser
Orlando Valkyries
Omaha via Grand Rapids Rise
Atlanta Vibe
Columbus Fury
With San Diego officially folded, the teams from Orlando down will all move up one spot while the playoff teams will be 1 through 3.
But, if they are spinning Vegas as a returning franchise rather than an expansion, are they auto-slotted 8th? Is LA penalized for essentially being San Diego?
I doubt it and I think some owners would argue the same.
An argument could be made to just put all 5 teams that didn't play this year into the lottery, but some owners might be upset that LA is in the lottery with the same odds of winning when they were, essentially, in the playoffs this year.
My suspicion is that the draft lottery will include every team except the 3 surviving playoff teams.
Another possibility is every team is in the lottery, but they wiegh team odds so NorCal, MN, and DC have the best - and equal to each other - odds. Vegas has the next best odds, then LA, then each team with slightly worst odds based on how they sit in this year's final standings.
Or, they could just say "screw it" and repeat what they did before season one: Every team with equal odds.
What are your thoughts/suspicions/predictions?
Orlando owns the head-to-head (3-1) tie-breaker against Grand Rapids. So, If Orlando loses in 5 sets or wins tomorrow against Dallas, then Grand Rapids will finish sixth. If Orlando loses in 3 or 4 sets, GR regains the fifth spot.
Aside from deciding final standings amoung those under the playoff line, this could be important to Omaha fans due to the traded draft pick *if* post season standings effect draft order *or* weigh odds for a draft lottery.
This is centric to the Indy Ignite of MLV, but there's some interesting things said here about how both LOVB and MLV are creating waves felt overseas.
Tomorrow's Rise & Columbus match is on Vice. There's a sale for frndlyTV right now if you subscribe through a Roku Device.
