The Champions Cup

This point came up in the comment section of the Dobbo AMA and actually I would like to hear everyone's thoughts on it in a dedicated thread. How do we feel about the Champions Cup?

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that SA fans are somewhat ambivalent about the CC. Would this be through lack of awareness of what it means to European club rugby, or genuinely don't care? Is it bc it is a NH thing? Or am I wrong entirely?

I personally love the CC. I feel that it is actually the pinnacle of club rugby. Yes, I am aware that the Super guys don't take part, but there's only so much you can do. I don't think that a club world cup is the answer. But making a proper run to the finals, even winning it, is massive. Look at what it meant to the Saints and they didn't even win. look at Bordeaux, who won last year for the first time and now they're backing it up by making it to the finals for the second year in a row. It's a huge deal, well above winning the Top14 or the PREM. So many European fans are willing to lose their 'home' tournament if it means winning in Europe and I think that means something, something that we should learn from.
