Soundcore Space One Pro - warm Harman-ish EQ and sound profile
Hey guys,
Recently bought Soundcore Space One Pro at a very good price. Wanted to share a small review, but, most importantly, its sound profile and an EQ preset for Wavelets that should give you warm Harman-ish sound (by warm Harman I mean a Harman curve with the added punch around 150 Hz to mimic my beloved ATH-M50X).
Disclaimer: I have been in love with the sound of ATH-M50X for the last 10 years despite it is bright peak at treble. Primarily for its bass punch and mids that make the mix sound very "in your face".
I have also owned Sony XM5 and XM4 in the past, so I will use them as a reference point.
I have had Space One Pros for ~1 week.
First, short review:
- Sony-level ANC
- Very light. Much more comfortable that Sonys in that regard. Also very well cushioned.
- Build quality is adequate. No complaints. I do not know what it is, but Sony's felt a bit more premium. Probably, it is the weight (ha-ha) and plastic.
- Sound is... terrible out of the box and required severe EQ for my taste. Bloated bass. Recessed mids. By severe EQ I mean tuning ~ 5-6 dB for some frequencies. Screenshot attached below. After the EQ with this severity I think I hear some artifacts. However, I might be just imagining things xD
- Mics were fine in quiet env. Did not test them on the street.
- Overall, I am very happy with them for the price paid - around 90 GBP.
Now to the EQ. I uploaded a JSON file with the sound profile ripped from RTINGS and an EQ preset you can import to Wavelets to get that warm Harman-ish sound https://gist.github.com/fxlrnrpt/58d2eb6b1a84451456624e87d48762c5
Long live rock'n'roll!
